Audi of America has taken the wraps off a more powerful 2016 A8 L 4.0T Sport model.
Compared to the previous model year, the new version adds 15 bhp (11 kW) to its twin-turbo V8 4.0-liter engine which is now capable of developing a total of 450 bhp (336 kW). In order to match the added punch, Audi has made the full-size premium sedan a little bit more aggressive by lowering the front bumper and applying more prominent rocker panels to make the car appear wider.
The back of the car hosts a modified bumper and there are now fewer chrome accents than what the 2015MY had. As standard, the car rides on a 20-inch set of five-double spoke alloy wheels wrapped around in all-season tires, but customers also have the possibility of upgrading to larger 21-inch five-arm rims shod in summer tires.
Stepping inside the cabin, the 2016 A8 L 4.0T comes with the standard Executive and Luxury packages and benefits from 22-way comfort front seats with Valcona leather featuring diamond pattern stitching. Moreover, those sitting on the front seats will be able to enjoy the ventilation and massage functions while a panoramic sunroof, Alcantara headliner and acoustic window glazing are also part of the standard deal.
The model can be ordered with an adaptive cruise control system (with stop & go), a head-up display and a plethora of driver assistance systems like Audi side assist with pre sense rear that can help out the driver when changing lanes.
Audi of America is asking $90,500 MSRP (plus $925 for destination charges) for the 2016MY A8 L 4.0T Sport.
