The Audi A5 has always been one of the best looking cars in its segment and our spies have just snapped more photos of the redesigned 2017 model.
Caught undergoing testing near the Nürburgring, the next-generation A5 Coupe has a familiar design that is instantly recognizable. Most of the styling details are covered by camouflage but we can see the model will have a prominent grille, large air intakes and angular headlights. Moving further back, there’s curvaceous bodywork, a rakish windscreen and a sporty greenhouse. The model also has wraparound taillights and a trunk with an integrated spoiler.
The interior echoes A4 and features aluminum trim, metallic accents and a free-standing infotainment system. The model also has a new steering wheel, higher quality switchgear and a “quattro” badge on the dashboard.
Engine options will carryover from the A4 lineup so expect an assortment of petrol and diesel options including a 2.0-liter TSFI with outputs of 190 PS (140 kW) and 320 Nm (236 lb-ft) of torque as well as 252 PS (185 kW) and 370 Nm (273 lb-ft) of torque. Diesel fans should able to order a 2.0-liter TDI with outputs of 150 PS (110 kW) and 320 Nm (236 lb-ft) of torque as well as 190 PS (140 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque. Of course, if you want something even more powerful, there will be a new S5 Coupe with a 3.0-liter TFSI engine that develops 354 PS (260 kW) and 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) of torque.
