ABT marks 120 years of existence with mind-boggling Audi RS6 Avant image
The German tuning specialist has a round milestone to celebrate this year: its 120th anniversary. And they decided to mark it with a bang – a limited series Audi RS6 Avant sporting 735 hp under the hood.
Way back in 1896 – when all us petrolheads were very young! – Johann Abt decided to set up a blacksmith’s shop in Kempten and now just 120 years later ABT is still hitting the metal – but in way different “directions”. In order to mark the milestone, the aftermarket specialist has prepared an imposing Audi RS6 Avant that hasn’t been left untouched anywhere. Undoubtedly the most important part of the upgrade pack will be the serious oomph added to the 4.0-liter TFSI V8 engine – it has another 175 horsepower (129 kilowatts) and 162 pound-feet (220 Nm) for a grand total of 730 hp (537 kW) and 679 lb-ft (920 Nm) delivered to all four wheels through the proprietary quattro AWD system. Called the ABT POWER S package, the tailored Audi RS6 Avant will then hit a highway law-breaking top speed of 199 miles (320 kilometers) per hour. This is actually faster than the official RS6 Avant performance that tops out at 189.5 mph (305 km/h).
Aside from the power upgrade, ABT has also equipped the very fast estate with a range of carbon fiber body parts: air inlet panels, front flics, side and rear skirts, fender inserts, rear spoiler, and side mirror caps. To complete the bespoke look the tuner’s 22-inch alloy wheels have been wrapped in Dunlop high-performance tires measuring 295/25 R22. Inside the cabin the limited run RS6 Avant has been treated to bi-color leather upholstery to match the exterior hues and the headliner and pillars are covered in Alcantara. Other highlights include a numbered plaque to signal the model will only be declined in 12 units and the floor mats and entrance lights show “120 years.”
