Acura NSX gets $157,800 price tag
Acura has announced launch details, including pricing, for its 2017 NSX supercar.
The coupe will start at $157,800 (including $1,800 freight) for customers in the US market, with fully-laden packages topping out at $207,500.
The entry-level price represents a roughly $20,000 to $50,000 premium above the Nissan GT-R, Audi R8, Aston Martin V8 Vantage and Porsche 911 GT3, among others. It is approximately on par with a Porsche 911 Turbo, but below the starting point for entry-level supercars offered by Ferrari and Lamborghini.
The resurrected NSX should be able to hold its own against many rivals. It is powered by a hybrid configuration, pairing a twin-turbo V6 and an electric drivetrain for a combined output of 573 horsepower and 476 lb-ft of torque. Acura’s Sport Hybrid SH-AWD system helps the coupe launch to 60 mph from a stop in approximately three seconds, eventually hitting 191 mph.
The NSX represents Acura’s first build-to-order vehicle, available in eight exterior hues and four interior color schemes. Configuration options include three seating surface materials, carbon-ceramic brakes and plenty of carbon-fiber upgrades.
The first example will be auctioned for a pair of charities, Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation and Camp Southern Ground, at a Barrett-Jackson event in January.
