Audi unveiled the A3 sedan in early 2013 so it comes as little surprise the company is preparing a minor facelift for the popular model.
Recently caught undergoing testing, the facelifted A3 is instantly recognizable but the car adopts a new front bumper, a wider grille, and restyled headlights that mimic the ones on the recently introduced A4. There doesn’t appear to be any changes out back but the model is still in the early stages of development so we wouldn’t be surprised if the production model has a new rear bumper and a modified exhaust system.
The interior will likely receive minor updates including the usual trim and upholstery changes. The facelifted model could also gain a digital instrument cluster and an updated infotainment system.
Engine options are largely expected to carryover but there could be a new turbocharged 1.8-liter engine that produces 190 hp (141 kW) and has cylinder deactivation technology.
Launch details remain elusive but speculation suggests the facelifted A3 could be introduced at the 2016 Paris Motor Show.
