Audi A3 Sportback e-tron gets higher price, more tech for 2017

Audi has revised its A3 Sportback e-tron for the 2017 model year, introducing new options and raising its base price in the US.

Buyers can now opt for Audi’s virtual cockpit technology, adding unique displays including a power meter screen to quickly view range and consumption figures for the onboard battery and gasoline. Other tech features include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, Audi Connect Prime and Plus services and MMI Navigation Plus.

The expanded list of standard features includes a panoramic sunroof, rearview camera and LED daytime running lights. E-tron signature headlights are now standard on the Premium Plus and Prestige trim levels.

The 2017 lineup includes a Sport package with a three-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel, paddle shifters and front sport seats. The configuration is visually distinguished by 18-inch 15-spoke Turbine wheels and an S-line roof spoiler.

The E-tron will start at $39,850 (including $950 freight) for 2017, representing an increase of $1,000 over the 2016 edition.
