Audi A8 Recalled For Leaking Solenoid Solution

Audi has recalled its A8 luxury car in Australia, due to a potential problem with a gearbox solenoid valve.

The carmaker has identified a weakness with the valve which may alloy fluid from the transmission heating circuit to contact the engine control module connector.

Should this occur, the engine control module may malfunction, rendering the vehicle inoperable. If the unit fails while driving, this may create a hazard to the vehicle occupants and other road users.

Affected models are all fitted with Audi’s 4.2 litre FSI engine, and were manufactured for the 2010, 2011 and 2012 model-years.

A total of 109 examples are on the recall list in Australia.

Audi is attempting to contact affected owners, but any owner wishing to learn more about the latest round of recalls should contact their local dealer.
