Audi continues the teasing game for the A5 coupe, plays like a child with animated GIFs image
The Ingolstadt automaker is trying to make things different with the teasing campaign for the introduction of the all new generation A5 coupe, this time around bringing us some childish animated GIFs.
The Graphics Interchange Format, according to Wikipedia, is a bitmap image format established back in 1987 that among other things allows for the creation of animations – which even have their own color palette for each frame. With June 2 – the reveal date for the 2017 Audi A5 – approaching fast, the automaker is trying to entice us even more than before. While the GIFs recently released are quite silly, they contain some revealing information about the model’s design. That’s because one of the GIFs depicting the car’s all-digital instrument cluster already available on the A4 sedan has a frame revealing the car’s design – though the quality is lackluster at best.
By the way, the Audi Virtual Cockpit is also available on the TT, Q7, and the R8 supercar. The high-resolution 12.3-inch digital screen shows some of the selectable view modes and at one point we also catch a glimpse of the car itself in a classic front three quarters position. Other GIFs are also present, one of them showcasing the prominent character line which runs the entire length of the car, apparently. The last GIF released has to do with the V6 3.0-liter TDI engine that could serve as the flagship version for this engine type in 218 and 272 hp configurations, just like inside the A4.
