Audi details minor trim revisions for 2017 lineup
Audi has detailed a slew of minor trim revisions and package enhancements for its 2017 lineup.
The A5 Sport Coupe and Cabriolet now come standard with distinctive S-line exterior elements, along with a three-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel and parking sensors for the front and rear. The Black optic package for the coupe features 19-inch 10-spoke Y design wheels with a black finish, matching the gloss black mirror housings and grille surround.
The A6 family has received a few exterior design tweaks to improve outward aesthetics, while S-line body elements and 18-inch 10-spoke V design wheels have been added to the list of standard equipment. The 2017 model year also brings a new 3.0T ‘competition’ variant with 340 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque.
Improved smartphone integration, Bose surround sound and 19-inch five-spoke V design wheels define the entry-level A7. The family also gains a competition A7 3.0T with red brake calipers and 20-inch five-spoke ‘titanium’ wheels, among other upgrades, while S7 buyers can opt for new 20- and 21-inch wheels.
The A8 flagship has not been omitted from Audi’s push for slightly improved styling, with Sport package tweaks now found on the base model. Only the long-wheelbase variant will be offered for 2017.
The 2017 Q3 brings an enhanced Premium entry-level trim, adopting a few features — 12-way seats, panoramic sunroof, LED daytime running lights — that were previously only available with a more expensive package. The Q5 also features more standard equipment for the 3.0T Prestige variant, while the SQ5 Prestige boasts dynamic steering and an available blacked-out appearance package.
Audi TT buyers will be treated to standard rearview camera and auto-folding side mirrors. Black optic packages now include 19-inch unique wheels for the TT, and a rear diffuser and 20-inch rims for the TTS.
The revisions complement the all-new Q7, A4 and R8, each redesigned for the 2017 model year.
