Audi has announced plans to introduce three models at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
First up, the company will stage the U.S. debut of the 2017 R8. It will go on sale next spring with a 5.2-liter V10 engine that has outputs of 540 bhp (402 kW) and 610 bhp (454 kW).
The company will also display the RS 7 performance. Audi didn’t say much about the US-spec model but the European variant has a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine that has been tuned to produce 605 PS (445 kW) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque – 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) with overboost. The engine is connected to a revised eight-speed tiptronic transmission which enables the car to rocket from 0-100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds.
To distinguish itself from the RS 7, the RS 7 performance has a sportier front bumper with gloss black honeycomb grille inserts. The model also has a more aggressive diffuser and unique 21-inch alloy wheels.
Likewise, the Audi S8 plus also has a twin-turbo 4.0-liter TFSI V8 engine that produces 605 PS (445 kW) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque – 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) with overboost. It enables the model to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.8 seconds before hitting a limited top speed of up to 305 km/h (189.5 mph).
To keep things under control, the model has been equipped with a retuned air suspension, a modified dynamic steering system and carbon ceramic brakes with anthracite-gray calipers embossed with the Audi logo.
The Euro-spec model also features sportier exterior styling and an upgraded interior with additional standard equipment as well as brushed aluminum trim, stainless steel pedals and Arras red contrast stitching.
