Audi released a sketch of the e-tron quattro concept, which previews an electric crossover.
The e-tron quattro concept that Audi plans to unveil next month at the Frankfurt auto show will preview the brand’s upcoming Tesla Model X-fighter.
A teaser photo and some details of the electric four-seat crossover, likely to be called the Q6, were released last week. Production will start in 2018.
The length of the new crossover will fall between the Q5 and Q7.
The vehicle will have a range of more than 310 miles, Audi said. It will be powered by three electric motors, one on the front axle and two on the rear axle. It is the same package used on the electric variant of the R8 sports car.
Tesla’s Model S can travel up to 270 miles on a single charge. The Model X, Tesla’s second model, is expected to have a range of 170 to 230 miles.
