Following last month’s reveal, the Audi RS6 Avant and RS7 Sportback performance editions are now making their video debut.
The cream of the crop for the RS6 & RS7 duo adds 45 PS (33 kW) to the TFSI 4.0-liter V8 engine which now churns a massive 605 PS (445 kW), so it has exactly the same output you will find in the S8 Plus. These newer iterations of the RS6 and RS7 are capable of performing the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in as little as 3.7 seconds and will continue to accelerate until 189.5 mph (305 km/h) when fitted with the optional performance package.
Unsurprisingly, visual tweaks were kept down to a minimum since Audi only made the air inlets a little bit bigger and applied a glossy black finish on the front grille while at the back there’s a meaner diffuser. An optional Ascari Blue paint, RS sport seats, Alcantara & leather upholstery, and a carbon fiber trim are all on the list of added goodies.
More importantly, the RS6 Avant and RS7 Sportback performance versions share an updated eight-speed tiptronic transmission, an adaptive air suspension, and an optional rear sport differential with active torque distribution. The cars also get unique 21-inch alloy wheels shod in 285/30 tires on the RS6 and 275/30 rubbers for the RS7 and can be backed by optional carbon ceramic brake discs.
If the impressive specs and the slightly more aggressive looks have convinced you, Audi is asking €117,000 for the RS6 Avant performance and €121,700 for the RS7 Sportback performance in Germany. These two cars along with the aforementioned €145,200 S8 Plus will all share the spotlight next week at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
