Audi‘s Canadian division has prepared one last special edition of the outgoing first-gen R8.
Audi opened the order books in Europe for the second generation R8 several months ago and they have already commenced deliveries, but in North America they still sell the first model which is now heading towards a well-deserved retirement and this LM version is the last edition. It can be best described as the R8 LMX sans the fancy laser headlights, Ara Blue paint and the dark look of the 19-inch alloys.
It’s heart and soul is the same V10 5.2-liter naturally aspirated engine with 570 PS (419 kW) and 540 Nm (398 lb-ft) of torque channeled to a quattro all-wheel drive system through a 7-speed S tronic. Thanks to this hardware setup, the R8 LM needs 3.4 seconds for the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) task and tops out at 199 mph (320 km/h).
Photos of the interior cabin are not available at this point, but Audi Canada says the R8 LM special edition has been pampered by Audi exclusive and comes with individually-numbered door sills featuring an embossed and illuminated “R8 LM” logo.
Production is capped at just eight cars, but details concerning the price are not available at this point.
