2016 S8 plus euro model
Top trims tops out at 605 hp, 553 lb-ft
Audi set prices for the 2016 S8 plus sedan and RS7 performance four-door on Thursday. The top S8 variant comes in at $115,825, while the new RS7 will start at $129,925, both including destination.
The S8 plus gets a 4.0-liter turbocharged engine making 605 hp — 85 hp more than the last S8 — and 516 lb-ft of torque. The S8’s torque actually goes up to 553 lb-ft for short bursts during overboost operation. That allows it to get to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds and to a top speed of 155 mph. The available Dynamic package bumps that to 190 mph.
Obviously the S8 gets Audi’s quattro all-wheel drive with active torque vectoring. An adaptive air suspension was designed specifically for the plus model.
The standard trunk spoiler is painted in body color while the mirror housing are silver, differentiating it from the A8. Split five-spoke, 21-inch wheels are also standard. The Black Optic Exterior package comes with carbon fiber mirror housings, a black grille and window surrounds, a carbon front blade and diffuser trim as well as darkened taillights.
In addition to the top speed bump, the Dynamic package includes high-performance brakes, a carbon lip spoiler and a modified sports exhaust.

The RS7 gets the same engine and output, 605 hp and 516 lb-ft, while offering the same peak during overboost. An eight-speed Tiptronic shifts the gears and sends power to all four wheels.
As opposed to the standard RS7, the performance RS7 model gets carbon ceramic brakes, an RS sport suspension with Dynamic Ride Control, a new bumper with rear diffuser insert, sport exhaust tailpipes, carbon mirror housings and a black grille. RS sport seats are standard, black Valcona leather and alcantara with blue contrast stitching is optional.
Both the S8 plus and RS7 performance go on sale next month.
