The Audi Q2 has been teased and is expected to make its official debut soon.
The German automaker has released the above teaser image, showcasing its current family of crossovers and SUVs that includes the Audi Q3, Q5 and Q7 along with a vacant spot. Given that the vehicles are parked from smallest to largest and the empty spot is located to the far left, it is more than likely the Audi Q2 will make its debut “soon,” probablly at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show in March.
There’s still a possibility the model will be called the Q1 given that Audi’s current lineup all consists of odd numbers, but the automaker did acquire the Q2 trademark from Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and the nameplate corresponds with statements made by R&D chief Ulrich Hackenberg last September.
Whatever name it chooses, it will be the smallest crossover that Audi has ever produced and will ride on the MQB platform used by the Golf and Passat models from Volkswagen.
Late last year, Audi confirmed that the Q2 would arrive this year along with the next-generation Q5. Check back with AutoGuide.com in early March to get full coverage of the 2016 Geneva Motor Show where we expect to see Audi’s newest compact crossover.
