Audi Turns Up The Heat With RS Q3 Performance

Audi has shown an even hotter version of its RS Q3 SUV, dubbed the RS Q3 Performance and set to become the third RS vehicle to wear the Performance tag after the RS6 and RS7 Performance.

A high-output version of the RS Q3’s in-line five-cylinder engine lifts power and torque outputs by 20kW and 15Nm for a total of 270Kw and 465Nm, allowing the RS Q3 to sprint from 0-100 km/h in 4.4 seconds, a 0.4 second improvement over the standard RS Q3.

Power is sent to the RS Q3’s all wheel drive system via a modified seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission, which features a full-throttle launch control function, close-ratio lower gears.

Stability control features a retuned sport mode for more dynamic driving, or the system can be completely deactivated.

Other RS Q3 upgrades include suspension that has been lowered by 20mm, new 20-inch alloy wheels, and 365mm diameter wave-form front brake rotors clamped by eight-piston calipers.

Exterior changes extend to the use of a matte titanium-look applied to the grille housing, quattro badge, window surrounds, front air inlets, mirror housings, and roof rails. Matte aluminum and gloss black option packages are available, while an exclusive Ascari blue paint finish is also available.

On the inside the RS Q3 Performance can be ordered with optional RS Performance seats in black and blue. Blue accents also feature on the steering wheel, gear selector, and centre armrest as part of the package.

If that’s not your thing black or lunar silver Nappa leather seats are also available. Standard Carbon inlays are also featured, but can be replaced with aluminium or piano black.

European deliveries are set to begin during Q2 this year, with Australian deliveries scheduled towards the end of 2016, with pricing to be announced closer to launch.
