BUDAPEST (Reuters) — Audi will invest 32 billion forints (104 million euros) in its plant in Hungary, the country’s foreign minister, Peter Szijjarto, told the MTI national news agency.

The government will provide a 6 billion forint subsidy for the project which will create 380 new jobs, Szijjarto was quoted as saying by MTI.

Audi builds the A3 sedan and convertible and the TT coupe and roadster at the Gyor plant, according to Automotive News Europe’s European plant map.

Audi said earlier this month that it made about 3 million of the diesel engines at the heart of parent Volkswagen Group’s emission scandal at its Hungarian plant, triggering concerns over the outlook for its production in Hungary.
