Does The 2017 Audi A4 Looks Too Much Like The Previous A4?

Enough with these conservative exterior redesigns, Audi.

From the moment we first laid eyes on it, our first impressions of the newly redesigned 2017 Audi A4 was that, yes, it looked an awful lot like its immediate predecessor. The most obvious difference? The new front-end styling. And to be perfectly honest, this redesign could be mistaken for a mid-cycle refresh. But once you step inside the new A4 you’ll immediately spot the differences. Lots of them and the news is all good. The redesigned interior is a masterpiece of craftsmanship, luxury and technology. Audi’s interiors are brilliant and this one is no exception. In fact, Audi claims the 2017 A4 has more new technology than the current A8. Respect. Our A4 is the 2.0T Quattro S Tronic, meaning it’s powered by a 2.0-liter turbo inline-four with 252 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque.

Power is sent to all four wheels (hence the name Quattro) by a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. It also came equipped with a host of expensive options, specifically the $8,600 Prestige Package, which adds a 755-watt, 19-speaker 3D Bang & Olufsen surround sound system, three-zone automatic climate control, and Audi’s wicked cool 12.3-inch LCD virtual cockpit. Total price: $51,575. There wasn’t much we didn’t like about this latest A4 except for its unchanged exterior design. It’s not bad but Audi could have done more to distinguish it from its predecessor.
