It’s the most wonderful time of the year—and we’re not talking about Christmas. It’s the beginning of American auto show season, kicking off with one of the biggest shows not only in the country, but in the world: Los Angeles.
The City of Angeles won’t by shying away from any big debuts this year. From supercars and hybrids to everything in between. Kicking off our auto show coverage, we’re going to take a look at six sexy supercars that will be taking center stage in LA.
Audi R8 V10
We’ve already seen the next-generation of Audi R8, but that shouldn’t dissuade anyone from being excited about the lovable V10 supercar. It’s sharper, it’s more handsome, and it’s got a bit more power with the top end 610-horsepower V10 Plus.
Like the R8, the BMW M2 will be no surprise to anyone when it debuts next week at the auto show. With it will be a 3.0-liter turbo-six, 365 horsepower, and a 0-60 mph time of just 4.8 seconds. Expect to learn a bit more about the M2 when it takes to the stage.
Fiat 124 Spider
Riding the wave of success that is the Mazda MX-5 Miata, the new Fiat 124 Spider will come to LA with some aggressive Italian styling, and a bit more oomph. Early reports point to a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine and somewhere near 250 horsepower. Mamma mia!
What? Lamborghini Huracan? Yes, we know, the Huracan has already been on the market for a number of years, but for 2016, Lamborghini has reworked it to make it even better than it was before. A revised all-wheel drive system, cylinder deactivation, and even more interior refinement.
For the first time in a long time, Mercedes-Benz has buttoned up its bootstraps, and decided to rework the aging SL. Overshadowed but the significantly more refined AMG GT, the Mercedes-Benz SL will hope to make a splash in LA with an uber assortment of luxury refinements.
Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport
Enthusiasts were over the moon when Porsche debuted the Cayman GT4. They should be absolutely besides themselves then when a new Cayman GT4 Clubsport shows up in LA. Rawer, meaner, faster—just a more badass Cayman, really.
