The German luxury automaker hasn’t been left unscathed by the Dieselgate scandal but it’s anyways unlikely it would give up on diesels easily.

According to the latest rumors flying around the mill new TDI units are coming – the Vienna Motor Symposium in April might see the debut of a new TDI V8 engine. This one would be found under the hood of the all-new A8 and be used in lieu of the current 4.2-liter TDI V8, delivering at least 400 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque. The latter figure is kind of odd since the current version has 626 lb-ft of torque. The engine would allow the A8 to reach 62 mph (100 km/h) in around four seconds. The powertrain could then go towards the Audi Q7, Porsche Panamera as well as Bentley Continental GT.

Another report that quotes a leaked Audi future product lineup roadmap has information about the upcoming models – no less than nine different models would be offered in the United States in 2017. First off there will be the new A5 and S5 coupes in March, followed by the April release of the new Q5 / SQ5, R8 Spyder and TT RS Coupe. In May Audi will present the A5 / S5 Sportback and the A5 / S5 Convertible, followed by the launch of the performance oriented SQ7. The RS3 Sedan is coming in August and the Q7 e-tron in October. For 2018 Audi is preparing the A6, A7 and A8, as well as the RS5 Coupe, The product planning also revealed plans for a new battery electric vehicle and what appears to be a base R8 entering the range with an unknown V6 engine.
