The New Audi S4 Is An Amazing Car, But Is The Previous Generation The Better Buy?

A 333-hp supercharged V6 is plenty of power after all.

Fans of the Audi S4 are in a tough spot right now. The all-new ninth generation debuted last summer with a host of upgrades and more power than the outgoing model. Naturally that makes it the ideal choice for someone in the market for a new S4, right? Not so fast. As you’ll learn in this walkaround video review of the 2016 Audi S4, the sporty four-door is no slouch. Its supercharged V6 makes 333 horsepower and races all the way up to an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph. But no one will realistically be touching a speed that high, which is fine. While the S4 is built for performance it’s a compact luxury sedan first and foremost. But the inside is not all business, as Audi opted to give the interior a sportier look and feel over the standard A4.

With the new S4 coming out, car buyers will have a difficult choice to make. Should they opt to save some cash and buy an eighth-gen model, like the 2016 featured in this video? Or should they go all-out and get the newest S4 complete with all the bells and whistles? If you find yourself in this situation we recommend you watch this walkaround video review before making a choice. Special thanks to Audi San Francisco for letting us shoot the S4 on its gorgeous rooftop.
