This Is Audi’s Idea Of A Civil War: R8 vs RS6 vs RS3 vs S1 Plus RS2 & Ducati

Audi’s collection of fast metal is gathered in one place for a good, old-fashioned drag race.

From the first model to ever wear the RS badges to the latest R8 in V10 Plus form, CarWow brought no less than six Audi models and one Ducati 959 Panigale together to exhibit their straight-line performance.

The original RS2 was the brainchild of Audi and Porsche, with the latter working on the suspension, the engine and adding the brakes and wheels directly from a 964 Turbo, creating one of the most undercover performance models of the 1990s.

Next to it is the Audi S1, the company’s entry-level performance model, powered by a 228hp turbocharged 2.0-litre TFSI engine which allows it to accelerate from 0 to 62mph in 5.8 seconds and top out at 155mph (250km/h). Pretty fast for a supermini, don’t you think?

Moving up in Audi’s food-chain we got the mighty RS3. This tricked-out hatchback can offer acceleration figures that are comparable to a five-year old supercar, courtesy of that turbocharged 5-cylinder 2.5-litre engine with 362hp and 343 lb-ft (465Nm) of torque being sent to all four wheels.

The RS6 Performance shows just how much Audi loves super-fast estates. The latest model offers no less than 605hp from its twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8, allowing it to sprint from 0-62mph (0-100km/h) in an unbelievable 3.7 seconds.

And of course we have the latest R8 V10 Plus, Audi’s performance flagship, powered by a naturally aspirated 5.2-litre V10 engine that makes 610hp. Many people claim that this is the default everyday supercar but this doesn’t take anything away from its ability to thrill whoever sits in the driving position.

Oh, and then there’s that Ducati 959 Panigale thrown in the mix, for another classic car-vs-bike drag race.
