US: 2017 model year updates come to the Audi roster image
The refreshed Audi range is featuring for the US market even more standard equipment as well as several new options.
The first to be touched by Audi of America’s roster of changes is the 2017 Audi A5 / S5 coupe and cabriolet pair. With the models ready for a complete upgrade, the A5 Coupe and Cabrio have been treated to a newly standard S line competition plus exterior, a flat-bottomed steering wheel, and front / rear parking sensors. The A5 can also gain an optional Convenience package that includes heated front seats, auto-dimming exterior mirrors, and a passive entry system. There’s also an update for the Black optic package which now has gloss black exterior accents and 19-inch alloy wheels with a gloss black finish.
The 2017 Audi A6 line will be treated to a now standard S line exterior package which includes 18-inch alloy wheels. More important is the addition of a new A6 3.0T competition version that treats buyers to Valcona leather sport seats, a flat-bottom steering wheel, red brake calipers, and 20-inch alloy wheels. Under the hood sits a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine which cranks 340 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque, directing power to all four wheels via the quattro system that also packs a rear sport differential.
Up the ladder sits the 2017 A7, which comes with minor upgrades such as an updated smartphone interface, a standard Bose surround sound system, and fresh 19-inch alloy wheels. The line also has its own A7 3.0T competition model which has the same credentials as the A6 competition and the optional list also includes a Premium Plus trim package. The flagship A8 is waiting for the replacement and is almost untouched – the only thing it’s now available exclusively as a long-wheel base version. The A8 L sporting the turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine also has a new standard Sport exterior styling package.
Meanwhile, the Q3 crossover boasts a new Premium version with standard goodies such as 12-way power front seats, a panoramic sunroof, LED taillights, and LED daytime running lights. The Premium Plus adds on top of that things such as power folding mirrors and a power liftgate. The 2017 Q5 will have an updated 3.0T Prestige version which packs a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel, adaptive cruise control, and an Audi drive select system. There’s also a new optional Black optic plus package boasting a matte black rear diffuser and high-gloss black exterior accents. The sporty TT now packs as standard features a rearview camera and auto-dimming side mirrors. Both the TT and TTS can be delivered with a Black optic package equipped with a black grille surround, black mirror caps and custom alloy wheels.
